Rules and Guidelines Digital Awards Asia



This registration process will take you less than 2 minutes and includes the following steps:

Step 1 – Create a personal profile at and verify your new account from the confirmation email.

Step 2 – Once you are login, you can proceed to register under [My Entries]

Step 3 – WAN-IFRA will review your entry and approve it.

Step 4 – We will then proceed to invoice you based on the number of entries you had entered.


Entry fee per submission

Each entry will be invoiced at SGD 150


Key dates for participation

  • 01 June 2020: Registration opens
  • 07 August 2020: Registration closes and deadline to upload your project
  • 14 August 2020: Deadline to complete registration fee payment
  • 28 August 2020: Finalists will be notify
  • Winners will be officially announced at the WAN-IFRA Digital Media Asia 2020

World Media Awards

Winners also become automatically eligible for WAN-IFRA’s World Digital Media Awards, which recognise the best digital initiatives from around the globe.


Who can submit an entry (entries)?

The WAN-IFRA Asian Digital Media Awards are opened to news media companies and entities affiliated with the news media industry in Asia Pacific (Except for South Asia and Middle East). Entries must be prepared and uploaded by the news media organisation, news media organisation representative, advertising agency, or public relations firm working on the company's behalf.

Multiple Entries

Unlimited entries can be submitted and payment must accompany each entry.



Syndicated material or campaigns that are not specifically prepared for your company are not eligible. WAN-IFRA reserves the right to disqualify any entry that fails to conform to the rules. Disqualified entries will not be judged. Fees for these entries will not be returned.  WAN-IFRA is not responsible for materials entered in the competition.
You will be also disqualified if you have not paid the entry fee.


Confidential Information

Please do not include confidential information in your entries.


Data Protection

Participants must grant WAN-IFRA the full rights to retain and use, free-of-charge, any images or material from the contest for publication in books, exhibitions, websites, or for educational and promotional purposes.



Submissions are strictly online based. CD/ DVD will not be accepted.

Once you have finalised the details, please change the status from "In process" to "Submit" to complete the process.


Recognition of Excellence

All prize winners will be granted the exclusive usage of a special icon illustrative of their achievement and representing – for each category – the gold, silver and *special awards. Winners will be entitled to display this distinctive recognition of excellence in their publication as well as in all their corporate communications or marketing materials. With effect from 2020, the Asian Digital Media Awards is starting a *special award for news media companies with annual revenue of less than US$10 million. This award replaces the Bronze award which was given out previously.




The competition is open to all news publishers in the Asia Pacific. All entries must have been published between 01 July 2019 to 30 June 2020.



Payment Methods

Payment can be made directly at the end of the registration via credit card. There is also an option to request a personal link for your payment via Worldpay. This is an online merchant who processes the credit card transaction over a secure site. Both VISA and Mastercard are accepted. We cannot view, and do not require, your credit card number (that information is encrypted & protected) to perform a refund transaction. Bank Transfer would only be accepted within three working days and on a case-by-case basis. All bank charges to be borne by payee
