Born and raised in rural Crete, Andreas quit the prestigious Mathematics University of Athens to pursue his passion for Advertising at the University of Florida, graduating with High Honors. Forging a life journey from Greece to New York and from Tokyo to Taiwan, he made Malaysia his home since 2006. In his career he has built & managed several media agencies for Publicis, Omnicom, WPP and Vivendi. He is currently the Group CEO of Star Media Group Malaysia.

Andreas has served in many industry associations and advisories, university advisory boards and awards juries. He is a frequent industry speaker, and the recipient of several awards and accolades. He is a Certified Professional Coach & NLP practitioner and finds his purpose into adding value and becoming a catalyst for greater things to come.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd., Singapore

Anthony joined SPH as Executive Vice-President, Chinese Media Group in February 2015. Anthony was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer on 1 July 2016. He oversees the media businesses of SPH, which includes titles such as Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, Berita Harian, Tamil Murasu, as well as radio stations under SPH Radio.

Anthony also manages the Group’s Healthcare business.

Prior to joining SPH, Anthony was Deputy Secretary (Policy), Ministry of Health and concurrently Special Assistant to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew (2011-2014). During his career with the Singapore Public Service spanning more than 15 years, he served in various organisations including the Ministry of Finance, Home Affairs, Manpower as well as the People’s Association.

Anthony currently serves on the boards of Singapore Power Limited and several SPH subsidiaries. He also serves on private/non-profit organisations.

Anthony graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997 with a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Political Science. He also has a Master of Science (Management) degree from the Stanford Business School.

Caroline Ceniza-Levine is the co-founder of SixFigureStart® career coaching and an executive coach to experienced and emerging leaders. She has worked with executives from Amazon, American Express, Condé Nast, Goldman Sachs, Google, McKinsey, Tesla and other leading firms. Caroline writes a leadership column  for Forbes.com, has appeared as a repeat guest expert on CBS, CNN, CNBC, and Fox Business and has been quoted in major media outlets, including Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Fortune, Inc, Newsweek, and Success Magazine.

Caroline teaches professional development and negotiation courses at Columbia University and is a coach for the Asian American Journalists Association Executive Leadership Program and The Maynard Institute. Prior to starting her own firm in 2008, Caroline spent 15 years in strategy consulting, executive search, and HR, including recruiting roles at Time Inc and HR consulting to Condé Nast, Disney ABC and TV Guide. A classically-trained pianist at Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music, Caroline stays active in the arts, performing stand-up comedy.

Partner / Mainland China and Hong Kong Media Leader, PricewaterhouseCoopers

Cecilia is a Partner in our Assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers and has been appointed as Mainland and Hong Kong Media Leader since 2018. Cecilia holds a BA (Hon) in Economics from the University of Hong Kong and is a member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also an AIPCA qualification holder. She has more than 20 years of assurance and business advisory experience across Asia Pacific region.

Cecilia has extensive experience in both China and Hong Kong which includes audits, financial due diligence, risk assessments review, floatation work and Sarbanes Oxley 404 control audits. She has deep understanding and relevant experience in dealing with IPO related issues for media, technology, education and medical industries.

During her career, she has led the teams to serve a number of reputable listed and the multi national companies including Television Broadcast Limited, Sony Corporation, The Interpublic Group of Companies, Metro Newspaper Group, Emap and Beijing Youth Daily IOP etc.

Founding Director, Handshakes

Charles has been involved in various parts of the Singapore capital market for the last 20 years. He started his career with Singapore Exchange Ltd (“SGX”) in 2000 and had been involved in all facets of the business from listing promotion to issuer regulation. In 2011, Charles left SGX to start DC Frontiers with fellow SGX-colleague, Daryl Neo.

At DC Frontiers, you can find Charles experimenting with novel approaches to understanding Handshakes data and taking its innovation to the next level. Charles is an intellectual who can’t resist a new challenge. He enjoys solving difficult problems.

Charles is currently also a member of the Catalist Approval Committee of SAC Capital Private Limited.

Executive Director World Editors Forum, WAN-IFRA, UK

Cherilyn Ireton heads up the World Editors Forum, the global network for editors within WAN-IFRA. She is a seasoned newspaper professional, having spent more than 20 years on South African newspapers, as journalist and editorial manger on the country's leading titles, the Sunday Times and Business Day. She rose to be Chief Operating Officer of BDFM Publishers, the business media joint venture between Pearson, owners of the Financial Times, and Times Media in South Africa which published Business Day newspaper, the Financial Mail magazine and Summit TV. She relocated to the UK in 2005 and owned an ran a London-based media consultancy, Presslinks, which advised a variety of international organizations and foreign governments.

Chief Technical Officer, M1

Mr Seek has over 25 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry and he is currently the Chief Technical Officer of M1. He is accountable for the planning, implementation, operations and maintenance of M1’s mobile and fixed network. In the past one year, he leads a team of in-house engineers to co-develop and showcase diverse 5G use cases in collaboration with government agencies, M1’s shareholders, institutes of higher learning and various industry partners.

Prior to joining M1, Mr Seek was with Maxis Berhad and was based in Malaysia for more than eight years. His last held position there was Head of Technology, Strategy and Network Planning.

Mr Seek started his career with Singapore Telecommunications Limited where he was involved in the planning and implementation of the initial mobile network in the Philippines. Thereafter, he was with M1 as Head of Radio Planning and Technology Development for more than 10 years before joining Maxis Berhad.

Mr Seek holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore, a “Diplôme d’ingénieur” (equivalent to a Master’s degree) in Telecommunications from the “Institut National des Telecommunications”, France and a Master of Business Administration with distinction from the Warwick University in the UK.

CEO, Deepnews.ai & Editor, Monday Note

Frédéric Filloux is a French journalist and an entrepreneur. He is the creator of Deepnews.ai, a project aimed at surfacing quality journalism from the web by using machine learning algorithm, a project that he started as a Knight Fellow at Stanford. He is also the editor of the Monday Note, a newsletter/blog that covers digital business models and technology since 2007. The Monday Note reaches between 30,000 and 60,000 media professionals each week and the newsletter has 13,000 subscribers.

Since 2018, he is an associate professor at Sciences-Po Journalism school.

During the academic year  2016-2017, Frederic was a Knight Fellow at Stanford University, along with seventeen other media professionals selected for the program. That’s where he started the Deepnews project.

Before that, Frederic spent four years as head of digital operations for Groupe Les Echos, France's leading business news provider. From 2007 until 2010, Frédéric Filloux was working as an editor for the international division of the Norwegian media group Schibsted ASA. In 2002, he was part of the managing team that launched the free daily 20 Minutes, which became the most read newspaper in France with 20 local editions and 120 journalits. Before, he spent 12 years at Liberation, one of the most innovative French media at the time, successively as a business reporter, New York correspondent, editor of the tech section, manager of online operations, and finally, editor of the paper.

He also has experience in the advertising business after a one-year stop at the Paris Groupe BDDP agency (now TBWA). He is a graduate of the Bordeaux School of Journalism.

Frederic is a board member of Reporters sans Frontières (Reporters without Borders).

CEO, South China Morning Post Publishers Ltd

Gary Liu is CEO of South China Morning Post, a leading English-language media company covering China and Asia. Founded in 1903, SCMP is headquartered in Hong Kong and is the city’s newspaper of record. Along with its flagship news products, SCMP also publishes Hong Kong’s premier lifestyle and fashion magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Elle Men, Esquire and Cosmopolitan. Prior to joining SCMP in January 2017, Gary was CEO of Digg, spearheading the New York startup’s transformation from aggregator to a data-driven news platform. Previously, Gary was Head of Spotify Labs, where he led emerging technologies and business strategies for Spotify’s global markets, after joining as Global Director of Ad Product Strategy. Gary has also worked at AOL and Google.

Born in the United States, Gary grew up in Taiwan and New Zealand, before returning to the American Northeast where he lived and worked for 20 years. He currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife Katrina, a pediatric dentist. Gary is an Economics graduate from Harvard University.

CEO, Times Internet Ltd

Gautam Sinha is a global executive with 30 years of rich experience including a wealth of startup and industry expertise. He is currently the CEO of Times Internet, the digital arm of The Times of India Group, where he drives the strategy, vision and execution for all the internet, mobile and telecommunication properties of the group.


Prior to Times Internet, Gautam was the Chief Operating Officer of CashEdge Inc., a company based out of New York and California working in payments and wealth management, where he worked since 2001 building and leading the company from startup to profitability. Prior to CashEdge, he held senior management positions at Servant, Aspect Communications, at the Neural Applications Corporation, and at the Ministry of Defense in India (DRDO).


Gautam believes in the Indian startup ecosystem and is an active early stage investor. He holds an MS in Computer Science from the University of Iowa and a BS in Computer
Science from BIT Mesra.

Founder & CEO, kumparan.com

Hugo Diba
Hugo Diba is the Founder and CEO of kumparan.com, a collaborative hybrid media platform combining online news with social media. Besides news content produced by its own editorial team of over 150 journalists, it enables users to create and share content.   Launched in January 2017, Hugo built kumparan (spelt with a lowercase "k") as the first tech-media company in Indonesia with the aim of using artificial intelligence and personalization technology in news writing and distribution. Its Personalization Algorithm Technology (PAT) enables marketers to reach users based on multiple factors, including location, age, gender, interests and behaviours. kumparan has not only disrupted but introduced a paradigm shift in the Indonesian media environment and has become the fastest-growing online media platform in Indonesia with over 40 million monthly unique users. kumparan's channels can also be found on Go-Jek, the Indonesian ride-hailing and e-payment app, which took a stake in kumparan in 2018.   kumparan is part of GDP (Global Digital Prima) Venture, which comprises over 50 start-ups across media, entertainment, e-commerce and technology solutions focused on Indonesia's consumer Internet industry.  

VP, Digital, South China Morning Post

Ian Hocking is Vice-President for Digital at the South China Morning Post where he provides strategic direction and leadership to deliver sustainable revenue across all SCMP digital platforms. He is responsible for the company’s digital agenda both internationally and in Hong Kong, ensuring digital operations deliver the highest quality experience for SCMP’s marketing partners.

Mr Hocking was previously Head of Programmatic and Data at NewsUK, a division of News Corp, which publishes The Sun and The Times of London, where he successfully led adtech and strategic partnerships, building their capabilities and reputation to an internationally renowned standard.

Before joining NewsUK, Mr. Hocking was the Head of Agency Sales and Programmatic for ebay.co.uk.

Vice CEO, Kompas Gramedia Group

Jayant Bhargava

Jayant Bhargava is the Vice Chief Executive Officer of Kompas Gramedia Group.  Kompas Gramedia Group is an Indonesian-based conglomerate with primary business interests across media, hotels, retail, education, light manufacturing, event management and logistics sectors.

He joined Kompas Gramedia Group in October 2018.  Prior to joining Kompas Gramedia Group, he was a partner with Strategy& (formerly Booz & Company) in the Digital, Business & Technology domain, leading their Media & Entertainment practice.  His experience has been focused around digital transformation, internationalization, M&A, operational restructuring and growth strategies.

CEO, Stuff Ltd, New Zealand

Sinead Boucher

Sinead was appointed Stuff CEO in August 2017, following a career of more than two decades in media in New Zealand and abroad. Prior to becoming CEO, Sinead was New Zealand Group Executive Editor for four years, responsible for New Zealand’s largest newsroom. Under Sinead’s guise, Stuff’s stable of newspapers, magazines and number one news site, Stuff.co.nz, grew to record audience numbers and was named New Zealand’s most influential publishing brand.

Sinead started her career as a reporter for The Press and gained international experience in London working as a digital journalist for the Financial Times site and as a general correspondent for Reuters’ London bureau. She was Stuff’s first digital editor, leading the growth of the young Stuff site into the largest digital brand in New Zealand.

In 2015, Sinead won Fairfax’s internal Woman of Influence Award recognising the special role she has had in advancing gender diversity, at Fairfax and beyond.

Sinead was also awarded the 2012 Wolfson Fellowship prize, the highest personal accolade in New Zealand journalism.

Sinead is a strong leader with a passion for inclusive and diverse workplaces and digitally-advanced business.

Editor-in-Chief and CEO, iTromsø, Norway

Stig Jakobsen is the Editor-in-Chief and CEO at iTromsø, the first newspaper in Europe to try personalization of the mobile front. He has previously worked as Editor at TV2, and started 9 magazines during his time as CEO of Bonnier Media, including international titles like Costume, FHM and Woman. On top of this, Jakobsen spent four years developing apps and social media platforms at Appaloosa. Jakobsen was also Camp Manager for UNHCR, managing a camp of 7000 refugees in Sierra Leone.

Suvita Charanwong

Suvita Charanwong co-founded Tellscore in 2017, establishing a leading influencer marketing-automation platform in Thailand and Indonesia. Tellscore is an award-winning solution that connects Brands x Influencers to create performance-driven influencer content campaigns on social media. 

Under Suvita’s management, Tellscore was recently named winner of the DEPA Startup Program 2018 and was one of the winners in the LINE ScaleUp 2019 program.

Suvita is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in digital communication and user experience strategy. During her time as Founder and CEO at digital agency Redlab (2001-2016), she was involved in shaping the digital strategy behind more than 300 brands including Nestlé, Johnson & Johnson, 3M, dairy brand Dutch Mill, Nissan, Chevrolet, Kohler, TCDC (Thailand Creative and Design Center), True, DTAC, telco AIS, retailer Central Group, Lazada, Unicef, etc., winning numerous awards for clients in the W3 Awards (USA), Creative Summit Awards (USA), B.A.D. Awards, etc.

Suvita, who holds Bachelor degrees in Computer Science (Mahidol University) and Fine Arts (University of Oregon), and an MFA in Computer Art in Interactive Multimedia (School of Visual Arts, New York), began her career in interactive design in New York in 1999 before returning to Bangkok in 2001.

In Thailand, she is a juror, mentor and coach for various Awards and startup competitions, a sought-after speaker and corporate coach in digital marketing and user experience and was recognized as Quality Person of the Year in the Media Sector by the Foundation of Science and Technology Council of Thailand of the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2018.

 

Executive Vice President, Advertising Sales, Amedia, Norway

Victoria C. Schultz is an executive vice president for advertising sales, and has been with Amedia since 2011. Prior to joining the top management team, she was the CEO of one of the largest newspapers in the group and a regional director. She has been in the media industry since 1999 and has various commercial and financial roles all related to the digital development of the media business. She has experience from several media houses in Norway and Denmark.

Prior to joining the media industry she spent five years in finance, at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London and DnB Markets in Oslo. She is on the Board of MBL (Norwegian Media Businesses’ Association), head of the consumer and advertising group at MBL and has board experience from several digital startups and growth companies. Schultz is participating in WAN-IFRA’s Media Professionals Programme (MPP) as mentor for media companies and professionals in Vietnam, Cambodia and Myanmar. Victoria C. Schultz holds a Bachelor of commerce with honours from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and is a Certified European Financial Analyst.

Virgil L. Smith is the Principal Consultant of the Smith Edwards Group, LLC.  Smith started the consulting firm in October 2015 after retiring from the Gannett Company, where he worked for 24 years as a president and publisher and corporate HR executive focused on talent development, talent acquisition, talent management and diversity. Prior to joining Gannett, Smith spent 20 years with McClatchy Company in Sacramento, California.
