Digital Media Africa 2017

New dates will be announced very soon!

A message from Ralf Ressmann, Executive Director of Europe and Africa:

Organizing an event carries with it a lot of responsibility. Responsibility for partners, responsibility for participants, responsibility for speakers, responsibility for team members.

That´s why, over recent weeks, my heart and brain have been having serious fights about the next edition of Digital Media Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenyans are due to go to the polls again on 26 Oct in a rerun of a disputed poll.

We´ve been observing the election process closely with the guidance and support of our local partners, in particular, the wonderful team at the Nation. We expected things to get a little tense in the run-up to the election. However, the latest news about the situation in Kenya has unsettled some of our speakers, partners and participants – many of whom will be in Kenya for the first time. It would be a shame to have their first visit to the country to be one underlined by anxiety.

As the event is pretty close to the next elections, with no way of knowing what the post-election climate will be, we have we agreed today with our partners at the Nation Group to postpone our gathering to the beginning of next year when things will hopefully be more settled.

We are still waiting for the venue to confirm new dates and we will come back soon with further information.

Tickets stay valid for the new date or can be reimbursed.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in 2018 in Nairobi.

Best regards

Ralf Ressmann

Executive Director of Europe and Africa
