Steffen Damborg (MBA) is a Digital Director and board member with more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of running an online business in the Scandinavian media market, and a digital disruption specialist. He has also worked for flagship brands like BAT, Chevron, Robi Axiata ltd and DHL Express ltd. As a marketing head of the leading English Daily, The Daily Star (www.tahedailystar.net), currently he is responsible for managing the portfolio of advertisement, digital media, circulation and brand marketing.


He represented The Daily Star in World News Congress in Washington DC and Digital Media Congress in Hong Kong. Apart from that he attended number of training programs and workshops in Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, Bangkok and Srilanka. Tajdin is also a successful Google Squared (The digital marketing leadership course

Esra Dogramaci is Senior Editor, Digital at Deutsche Welle. Formerly she worked as a digital consultant at BBC World Service where she worked with BBC Arabic on a digital transformation across online, video, radio and social media. Previously, she led a team that looked after 20 languages YouTube channel’s with results stretching to 550% growth in just a year, then leveraging that growth in experimental formats for social and mobile video. Esra joined the BBC from Al Jazeera in Qatar and Turkey and prior to that was at UNICEF and UN headquarters working in communications throughout. Esra has significant experience in digital transformation across news and current affairs, particularly in social video and off platform growth and development. She’s also a former national team athlete, representing Australia in Ice Hockey.

Ian Yee is a news editor, journalist and executive producer currently managing a multiple award-winning multimedia news platform based in Malaysia called R.AGE.

Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Hamid was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Berhad effective March 2017.

Jalil was the Group Managing Editor of NSTP since October 2011. At the NSTP, he is in charge of the overall content policy and management of the print division of the Media Prima group. He runs the editorial department of the NSTP group and oversees the print and digital content of the three newspapers of the group.  

Prior to this, he set up and headed the National Communications Team, a special unit under the Prime Minister’s Office. The Unit was set up to help spearhead strategic communications advice and planning for the government.

Himanshu Gautam works as Head of Digital Business at Amar Ujala, he is a management graduate from Symbiosis, Pune and has been working at Amar Ujala since Jan 2015, he has been instrumental in growing and turning around this business to be a profitable one, prior to this he was Chief Commercial Officer for GMobi India and South Asia markets and worked closely with all Mobile OEM’s and Telcos in the region.

Earlier, Himanshu was VP of Sales & Business Development for Lumata Digital India. He has been in the Telecom media business for more than last 16 years, with many firsts to his credit. He founded and set up the Mobile Marketing Joint Venture “HT Mobile Solutions Ltd” with global Mobile Marketing player Velti PLC for HT Media and was the person who started the trend of music and television on mobile during his stint with Indiatimes. A great believer in Mobile as the next ‘Media’ platform, he has been an Evangelist of this in all his previous stints from Reliance Telecom to Times of India Group and Hindustan Times group.

Trushar Barot is the Digital Launch Editor, Indian Languages, for BBC World Service.
He oversaw the digital launches of the BBC’s new services in Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu
and Punjabi earlier this year and developing their content and growth strategies since
launch. He is a recent Nieman Visiting Fellow at Harvard, researching the use of Voice
AI in newsrooms and the potential implementation of the technology for news discovery in
emerging markets. He has over 20 years of experience in the British media, working across
newspapers, radio, TV, online, social and digital.

Sathya Sriram heads the Strategy and Marketing functions at The Hindu Group, a leading media house in India. She is spearheading the company’s thrust in digital subscriptions through a portfolio of products targeting different user segments – YoungWorldClub.com for children, BusinessLineOnCampus for MBA students and aspirants as well as the e-Papers of the daily newspapers.

She was formerly with McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm, and worked with governments, non-profits, and healthcare companies on improving operations, strategic thinking, and organisational transformation. She also helped set up the McKinsey Centre for Government in Singapore in 2011, an entity focused on connecting governments across Asia and supporting their services to the public.

Gulshan Verma is the Chief Revenue Officer at Times Internet Limited – India’s largest Internet Network and the digital venture of Bennett, Coleman and Company Limited, India's largest media conglomerate. He will be leading the charge for TIL and its variety of businesses in the online and mobile space.

Gulshan has 16 years of experience in the digital media industry, having worked in Europe, North America and Asia. Prior to joining TIL, Gulshan has enjoyed successful stints as the General Manager SEA and India Outbrain, Chief Revenue Officer, Komli Media, Director of Sales Strategy for Yahoo! India, and Director of Product Marketing for Yahoo! Search Marketing in the United States across the years.

He has also worked for Ernst & Young, McKinsey & Co and IMG.

Gulshan has a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, a Masters in Political Economy and a BSc Economics from the London School of Economics, and holds two patents in search monetization.
