WAN-IFRA Safety Lunch

Salón Pegasos, Centro de Convenciones Cartagena de Indias

A lunchtime discussion of the critical safety issues for journalists, existing mechanisms to better protect our profession, the perspective of the United Nations and the progress of the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity. From personal experiences to newsroom best-practice and institutional frameworks for better protection, we hope the discussion will engage a broad range of issues and perspectives and invite those attending to contribute to the session while taking their lunch.

World Editors Forum Safety Advisor, former editor Javier Garza (Mexico) will lead the discussion with Colombian journalist Jineth Bedoya Lima and UNESCO Assistant Director-General of Communication and Information, Frank La Rue.
