Guy Tasaka is a veteran of both traditional and digital publishing. He spent 17 years in magazine and newspapers including 4 years at Ziff-Davis and 11 years at The New York Times. He’s spent the past 4 years at NewsStand/LibreDigital and Page Foundry creating digital publishing solutions for the media industry. Self proclaimed the “Forrest Gump” of digital publishing he worked on the early stage launch of nytimes.com in 1995 and was the product manager for The New York Times Electronic Edition, one of the first e-editions in the US. He launched LibreDigital’s ereader program delivering newspapers and magazines to BN Nook and other ereaders. Guy has started TasakaDigital, a digital publishing strategy and product development consulting company, in an effort to help publishers understand how to best use the emerging technologies and prepare for the future. He also consults with technology companies to create solutions for the publishing industry.

A great case for TasakaDigital’s work with publishers can be seen on The Commercial Appeal's mobile/tablet ecosystem where he developed the digital strategy and designed the product suite to support that strategy. He worked with development partners Whiz Technologies and Syncronex on the execution.
