Kathy Fong started her career in financial journalism as a business news reporter in Star Publication Bhd, which publishes an English daily, The Star, in 1998. She set up a bureau office in Shanghai in 2005 to cover China’s economic boom.

In 2008, Kathy moved to The Edge Communications, a news organisation that specialises in financial news. She is currently an executive editor at The Edge overseeing the corporate and capital market division.
