    Liang Moung is an experienced technology leader in digital technologies and software development. For nearly 20 years, she spearheaded the digital technology and product development at Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). In her current role, she drives technology initiatives and innovation for future-proofing the organisation.

    From year 2000 to 2019, Liang Moung led the engineering team at SPH to develop, innovate and support the various digital products for SPH’s flagship media brands, including The Straits Times, Lianhe Zaobao, SPH Radio, etc. She works closely with the management team in formulating and executing strategies to drive digital transformation at SPH.

    Tom Mshindi, an accomplished journalist, started his career with the Nation Group in 1986, and rose to become the Managing Editor of the Daily Nation and later the Chief Operating Officer of the Nation Media Group before taking over the Editorial leadership of the Group in 2015. In between, he has been the Managing Director of Monitor Publications Ltd in Uganda;  Chief Communication Officer of United Nations Children’s Fund and CEO of The Standard Group.  In his current role, he is leading the transition of the NMG newsrooms and Editorial processes to respond to the challenges and opportunities in the digital space.

He previously worked with British American Tobacco in various countries and capacities for 17 years, where he rose to become the Business Unit Head (Southern Africa Markets) and Area Head of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs (East & Central Africa).

    Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy leads Facebook's Strategic Media Partnerships across Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Facebook, Jocelyne served in various roles at Disney, Viacom and Thomson Reuters, bringing entertainment programming, television channels and international news to media platforms around the continent. She started her career as a journalist, mainly at Reuters television. In terms of education, Jocelyne studied International Relations and Journalism in Paris, France. A committed pan-Africanist, Jocelyne is passionate about great storytelling, empowering African media and amplifying Africa's voice in the world. Originally from Rwanda, she has lived for long periods in Ethiopia, France, Kenya, and South Africa, where she still resides.

    Patricia Mary Mukhim is an Indian social activist, writer, journalist and the editor of Shillong Times. She is very much known for her social activism and her writings on mining in Meghalaya and Khasi people of the state. Patricia also the recipient of various awards as Chameli Devi Jain award,ONE India award, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry FLO award, Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award,Siva Prasad Barooah National award and North East Excellence award, she was honored by the Government of India, in 2000, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.

    Werner Müllner began studying Journalism & Communications Science at University of Vienna in 1978. He had his first taste of working at APA in 1979 during a holiday work placement, after which he spent several years freelancing for the arts & culture department and later on the current affairs desk. After taking a role as Press Spokesman for the Traffic Safety Agency, he returned to APA at the end of the 80s. In 1998 he was given the role of Manager Current Affairs. He held this position until 2005 when he became News Manager and since 2008, Deputy Editor-in-Chief. 

    In addition to his position as Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Müllner is Director of the APAcademy Newsroom and Coordinator for internal APA Quality Projects. 

    He also acts as the interface between the newsroom and IT at APA. For some time he has been a trainer for the APA-Campus (Writing Workshop), as well as for the KfJ College Salzburg und the Tyrolean Journalism Academy, among others. As project manager for the Austrian Video Platform (AVP), he leads its development as an independent platform for sharing video content between media companies in Austria.

    He is responsible for leading industry-wide strategic marketing initiatives which promote the unique power and value of print and digital news brands as trusted and effective advertising partners.

     

    Prior to this he held marketing leadership roles in the Outdoor advertising sector, responsible for brand, content and marketing operations across Australia and New Zealand.

     

    Charlie began his media career as a radio producer for Southern Cross Austereo and was promoted to national trade marketing manager for the leading Australian radio broadcaster.

    Zoe's 16-year career in international journalism began at the BBC News website, during a time of rapid change in the digital industry. She was social media editor for the launch of the innovative daily news show, Outside Source, on World Service Radio and World TV. Zoe went on to edit the radio version. The team’s coverage of the Inauguration of Donald Trump was shortlisted for AIB Media Excellence Award 2017.

    Passionate to share her experience and insight, Zoe is also a digital journalism trainer for the BBC Academy.

    Matt Murray

    Matt Murray is Deputy Editor in Chief of The Wall Street Journal. Before his appointment as Deputy Editor in Chief, he had served as deputy managing editor, U.S., in which he oversaw national and corporate news, and as deputy managing editor, foreign, in which he oversaw foreign and finance news. He joined Dow Jones & Company in April 1994 and has held a range of reporting and editing positions. Mr. Murray is the author of “The Father and the Son,” a memoir about his father’s entrance into a monaster, and the writer of “Strong of Heart,” a memoir about former New York City fire commissioner Thomas Von Essen’s experiences during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Murray received both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
