    Neerav Parekh

    Neerav is the founder and CEO of vPhrase, an Artificial Intelligence and Natural Langugage Generation company, that helps it's clients communicate insights from data, in a personalised way, at scale. Neerav has more than a decade's experience working in different roles and setting up businesses in Technology, Marketing and Finance. After completing his MBA from NMIMS, Neerav worked at Citibank before co-founding a fully online payroll application, eVetan. He then co-founded a digital marketing agency focussed on ecommerce before starting vPhrase.

    Neerav Parekh is the founder and CEO of vPhrase. Neerav has more than a decade's experience working in different roles and setting up businesses in Technology, Marketing and Finance. After completing his MBA from NMIMS, Neerav worked at Citibank and then co-founded startups in technology and marketing space before founding vPhrase. Neerav has received the prestigious Leader in Innovation Fellowship from Royal Academy of Engineering UK. He is a thought leader in the areas of business intelligence and data science, is an advisor to institutes teaching data science and regularly speaks at events including those by the Government of India, CII, NASSCOM, ASSOCHAM and more.

    Jacqui Park
    Jacqui is a journalist, media strategist and social entrepreneur. She is a senior fellow for Asia Pacific journalism and innovation at the Centre for Media Transition at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and founder and principal of Engagement By Design, advising media strategy, coaching startup teams and publishing a fortnightly newsletter on media startups and innovation in Asia Pacific. She was the founding director for the Beta festival for Asian media startups and innovators in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2019. Previously she was CEO of the prestigious Australian Walkley Foundation for journalism and in 2016 was a Knight fellow at Stanford University. Her research on news media innovation was published by UTS in October 2019.

    Simon Park works as a content strategist for Mediati, a Seoul-based media startup accelerator. He helps young media companies plan, test, publish, examine their content. 

    At Mediati, Park also works as a consultant for legacy media companies which are having problems in creating mobile and digital content. After decades of near market domination, most Korean newspapers and television networks are facing steep challenges from big digital platform companies. Mediati is helping the media scene evolve in South Korea. 

    Park has an eclectic range of interests and writes regularly for various media outlets on media, technology, design, and American politics.

    Adam Pasick is a senior editor at Quartz, where he has worked for the last five years from Bangkok, Washington, DC, and New York. He oversees Quartz's global push team, which includes the Quartz Daily Brief and Quartz Obsession email newsletters, and the award-winning Quartz app for iPhone and Android.

    His previous experience includes jobs at New York Magazine, where he was the website's managing editor, and a 10-year career at Reuters, where he will probably never live down a brief stint as bureau chief in the virtual world Second Life.

    Jacopo is an award-winning journalist, photographer and writer. His work focuses on environmental and social reporting, with particular expertise on reporting from the field. He reported across Asia, Europe, North and South America, as well as the Arctic and Antarctica. His contributions have been published on National Geographic, GEO, The Huffington Post, Repubblica, Vanity Fair, El Pais, Deutsche Welle, and Science among other publications. He lectures on science and environmental reporting at the Erice International School of Science Journalism, and gives workshops on media skills for scientists since more than a decade. He is now working at Quest EU H2020 funded project aiming to improve science communication in the media. He recently published the workbook "Communicating Science through the Media".

Before joining the Ozone project, Dipti led the Publisher Development Team at the Supply-Side Platform PubMatic, where she was responsible for creating and implementing their new business strategy across the EMEA region. During her tenure, she acquired many top-tier publishers to their portfolio including, The Guardian, Telegraph, News UK, Gumtree, The Mailonline, The Economist and BBC Worldwide. With digital and mobile knowledge, Dipti has also held commercial roles at both InMobi and Unanimis.

    Khadija Patel is the editor-in-chief of the Mail & Guardian and co-founder of the The Daily Vox. Khadija pushes words on street corners and was recently recognised as one of 25 individuals who are reshaping influence and engagement in the media. She has been published internationally by Al Jazeera, The GuardianQuartz and The Daily Maverick, among others, and is currently completing her first book. Since 2015, Khadija has been a research associate with WISER (Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research at the University of Witwatersrand) and previously published a community magazine that was distributed internationally. She is also a respected commentator on television and radio, both locally and internationally.

    Rishad is a product and design professional. He is the co-founder of Splice Media. For over twenty years, Rishad has designed and developed products for the web, mobile, radio, advertising, newsrooms, newspapers, magazines, podcasting, branding, books, and floor rugs for companies in Singapore, India, New Zealand, Europe, and the United States. He has been a design consultant for MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and SMART (the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology), and ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule), as well as an editorial consultant at The Straits Times in Singapore, the Wanganui Chronicle in New Zealand, and Mid-Day in Mumbai. After moving to Singapore in 2013, she worked in digital publishing before joining the ST Digital desk in 2015.

    Torry Pedersen is Head of Editorial and a member of Schibsted Media's top management team. He was previously the CEO/Editor in Chief of Verdens Gang AS, Norway’s most read news-site/newspaper. He began his career as a journalist in Fredrikstad Blad 1981, and has more than 35 years of experience in journalism and publishing.

    Pedersen has been Managing Editor in VG, Editor in Chief/Publisher in VG Multimedia AS, CEO of Verdens Gang AS and from 2011, both CEO and Editor in Chief of Verdens Gang AS. 

    He was educated at the Norwegian School of Management (formerly the Bedriftsøkonomisk Institutt), Oslo 1979 and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He has been awarded the "Chief Editor of the Year Award" in Norway, and during his time as Editor in Chief and CEO, Verdens Gang won several prizes.

    VGs is among the most profitable news organisations in Europe and its news-sites on desktop, mobile, tablet and paper, have nearly 2.4 million daily readers.

    David Pemsel was appointed CEO, Guardian Media Group (GMG) in July 2015 with responsibility for leading GMG’s commercial and financial business strategy.

    In addition he is Chairman of GMG Ventures, a $50m fund making early stage investments in innovative businesses in the media technology sector. He is also a member of The Scott Trust, the ultimate owner of The Guardian.  

    David joined Guardian News & Media (GNM) in 2011 and was appointed chief commercial officer in 2012. A year later he took on increased accountability for the GNM business in the newly-created role of deputy chief executive, with responsibility for leading commercial operations in the UK, the US and Australia, and integrating them as one global organisation.

    Prior to joining GNM, David worked in many senior roles within the media industry, including launching Shine Entertainment in 2000, before becoming Group Marketing Director of ITV plc in 2005. 

    David is a non-executive director of The British Fashion Council, a voting member of BAFTA and a Council member of the Marketing Group of Great Britain.

    Sebastian Penthin is founder & CEO of Lokalportal, a Start-Up from Hamburg, Germany.     Stephane Pere is Chief Data Officer (Global) for The Economist businesses. Since october 2013, his mission is to Elevate & Protect Data as a corporate asset, Leverage Data as revenue driver for the Circulation and Media Businesses as well as Explore the potential unlocked by Big Data.

    He joined The Economist Paris office in 2007 to manage online advertising sales for Continental Europe, Middle-East & Africa. In 2010 he moved to New York to launch Ideas People Media (a vertical digital ad network that enables marketers to reach Thought leaders at scale trough an alliance of +60 high quality news publications). Additionally from 2012, he was the Head of Digital Advertising Sales and Agency Solutions for Americas.

    Prior to joining The Economist, Stephane Pere had a diverse career within the advertising industry, which included managing online display advertising for Yahoo!, heading a TV and Print network for Canal+, and working with Bloomberg Television in international ad sales.

    He holds a Masters in Management Science from E.M. Lyon Business School, as well as a Post Graduate Master in Intellectual Property Law and a Masters in Contract and Business Law both from Pantheon-Assas University in Paris.
