    Radhika Shukla

    Radhika Shukla heads the Country Operations for News Republic in India. She is responsible for driving the revenue, marketing and growth of News Republic in India.  She has worked in Indian Mobile & Internet space for more than 11 years. Prior to joining News Republic, she was the Product Head- Digital at The Hindu Group of Publications where she was leading the digital initiatives and was responsible for Hindu’s product launches & revenue on mobile.

    Radhika has worked in New Product Development teams at Aircel and Airtel. She loves heights and depths- when not working you can find her trekking in Himalayas or scuba diving.  Radhika is an MBA from FMS, Delhi and Bachelors in Technology from IIT BHU.

    Caren Siebold is Head of Platforms and Portals at dpa Deutsche Presse-Agentur. Furthermore, she is a member of the executive board of mecom, a dpa subsidiary. Until 2015 she worked in the field of Business Development at the dpa subsidiary News Aktuell. (News Aktuell provides companies with effective access to media and consumers.)

    Having worked in PR and the media business for many years, she has extensive experience in both fields.

    Currently she is implementing the "dpa-connect" strategy at dpa which is supposed to transform the agency into a platform company. The strategy aims to bring the agency and publishers in Germany together more closely, creating additional value for the media companies. In this context she manages dpa's developer campus, which builds software solutions and applications supporting the tight interplay of customer needs and agency performance.

    Caren Siebold studied in Hamburg and holds a Master's degree in German and English literature.

    Jorge Luis Sigal is a journalist and editor. He was designated by President Mauricio as Secretary of Public Media on December of 2015. He's in charge of Radio Televisión Argentina and Télam SE, the national state news agency.

    Born in the city of San Juan, Argentina, on August 5, 1953, Sigal was editor in several national media outlets, editor-in-chief of weeklies Somos and Gente (Editorial Atlántida) and Sunday editor of newspaper Página 12; he participated in the foundation - as editor-in-chief - of the newspaper Perfil in 1998 and was editor-in-chief of weekly magazine 3 Puntos until 2003. He also served as columnist for the newspaper Crítica, collaborated in the Focus and Opinion sections of La Nación newspaper, in the cultural weekly newspaper ADN and in Noticias magazine. Until March 2013 he was director of the publishing house Capital Intellectual SA.

    Previous to his current role in Macri's governmnet, he was a political analyst in Radio Continental, one of the most popular radio programs in Argentina. He was also a political analyst at newspaper Perfil and was part of the Executive Commission of the Club Político Argentino, a civil association composed of prestigious Argentina intellectuals and politicians.

    Kowanin is a journalist in constant search of extraordinary stories. She is currently working on a comprehensive reinvention of  Vanguardia, one of Mexico's most respected regional daily newspapers. She has recently managed to increase the number of unique visitors to the newspaper's website by 500 percent.

    She is the founder and leader of Vanguardia's investigative journalism team, recognized by national and international awards.
    She's an expert in newsroom management, reengineering, processes and platform fusion and leads training in innovation projects, narrative journalism, research and long-term projects. Her daily work consists of guiding the editorial commitment of the media outlet in different platforms and narratives, as well as generating strategies to attract digital audience with quality content.

    Co-author of the book, Romper el Silencio, or Breaking the Silence, where she describes the attacks from organized crime against Vanguardia and herself, during one the worst periods of organized crime in northern Mexico.

    Brandon Silverman is the CEO and co-founder of CrowdTangle, a leading social analytics and discovery platform that was acquired by Facebook. CrowdTangle is used every day by thousands of publishers around the world from the New York Times to the BBC and BuzzFeed. Prior to CrowdTangle, Brandon helped start a nonprofit that trained civic & nonprofit leaders to drive change in their communities, including how to use emerging digital and social tools as a part of their work. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and currently lives in Oakland with his wife, 3-year old son and golden retriever.

    Ben Sinden

    In May, Ben led the launch of 'Telegraph Video', a portal that will produce more than 30 news videos each day. He started out as a national magazine journalist before moving into television. Having worked for companies including ITV, BBC and The Shine Group, Ben moved into the digital world of video, working as Executive Producer for ITV’s Multiplatform Video team. Joining Videojug Networks in 2012 as Content Director, before becoming Managing Director in 2014, Ben has delivered online video strategies for agencies such as Carat, JWT and ZenithOptimedia as well as brands including John Lewis, Diageo and Haymarket, whilst monetising and building a distribution network for owned video content. Ben joined the Telegraph Media Group in Spring 2015 as Director of Video Content.

    On the humanitarian front, Parminder is a founding member of @incrisisrelief, one of the largest citizen-led disaster relief technology initiatives.

    Pratik sinha is a co-founder of AltNews.in. Alt news is an Indian fact checking website. The website was launched on 9 February 2017 to combat the phenomenon of fake news. Sinha has compiled a list of more than 40 of what he describes as fake news sources, most of which he says support right wing views. Pratik Sinha was invited to the Google NewsLab Asia-Pacific Summit to discuss potential solutions to fake news. Since launching the website, he has received threats to his life, demanding that he stop producing content.

    As a business leader, Gautam Sinha began his Times Internet journey over eight years back as the Chief Technology Officer and was elevated as the Chief Executive Officer at Times Internet; under his leadership Times Internet has become a strong contender in the pragmatic advertising space, filling the gap between search and networking by providing context to these digital interactions. Sinha’s experience as a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and executive, building digital businesses has helped Times Internet move away from being a digital facilitator to one of the biggest media conglomerates in India, to become a conglomerate in-itself with diverse digital products and properties. As a technologist, Gautam Sinha has more than 30 years of global experience; beginning his career in 1986 as a defense scientist working on Dr Kalam's IGMDP program for DRDO, followed by his entrepreneurial journey, as chief operating officer and chief technology officer of CashEdge, a company based out of New York and California, which was acquired in 2011 for $465 million.

    Gautam holds a Bachelors’ degree in Technology from Birla Institute of Technology and Masters in Computer Science from University of Iowa.

    Helen Situ

    Helen Situ is the Virtual Reality Evangelist at NextVR, the leader in live virtual reality entertainment. Helen is driven by passion to connect the world through VR shared experiences. Helen believes that virtual reality is the ultimate empathy machine, and Virtual Reality will completely change how we explore, experience, and share. She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and she was hired as the 4th employee at NextVR. Helen is a reoccurring judge with the annual innovation contest: Big Ideas at Berkeley.     Bård Skaar Viken is Director Consumer Business in Schibsted Media. In his position Bård is responsible for all user revenues across four major Norwegian news media brands: Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad and Fædrelandsvennen. He also oversees a portfolio of magazines, niche services and junior products.

    He joined Schibsted in August 2012 and has been in his current role since January 2017. Prior to his current role Bård has been Director Product and Consumer Business in Stavanger Aftenblad (2014-2015) and Director Digital User Revenues Schibsted Norway Subscription Media (2016)


    Since 2014 he has worked primarily on growing Schibsteds subscription business with a special focus on increasing the number of paying digital subscribers, refining paid content models, drive conversion/sales and improving the overall customer journey.


    He is a board member in the Norwegian Media Businesses’ Association.

    Bård graduated from the University of Oslo in 2009 with a Master in Political Science and International Political Economy. He also has a Bachelor in International Studies.

    Hanne Skartveit is a Political Editor at VG in Norway. She has a law degree from the University of Oslo and Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) from Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, Washington, D.C. Hanne is hosting the weekly podcast "Skartveit" where she talks to people in power.

    Silje S. Skiphamn is a senior fact checker and investigative reporter at Faktisk.no, Norway´s new groundbreaking fact-checking organization. She has worked as a news journalist and political reporter in several newspapers since 2008, among them VG, the largest Norwegian daily on paper and internet combined. Skiphamn is also chair woman of the Norwegian Foundation for Investigative Journalism (SKUP). She holds a Bachelor´s degree in political science from the University of Oslo and has also studied journalism.

    DAVID SKOK

    Skok has had a distinguished career in journalism both in Canada and the United States. Mostly recently he served as Associate Editor of Toronto Star. Before joining teh Toronto Star, he was Managing Editor and Vice President, Digital at the Boston Globe, where he oversaw all digital business and editorial groups. Before moving to Boston, Mr. Skok worked for Global News in Toronto where he was instrumental in launching Globalnews.ca, a site that grew rapidly in audience and journalistic quality, recording triple-digit annual growth. He also was a Nieman Journalism Fellow at Harvard University in 2012, the first Canadian digital journalist selected for this honor. He is the co-author of Breaking News: Mastering the Art of Disruption in Journalism, a Nieman Reports e-book he co-wrote with Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen and Forum for Growth and Innovation Fellow James Allworth. David Skok began his career at ABC’s Nightline, the flagship current affairs program in Washington, D.C. He was born in South Africa and immigrated to Canada in 1988. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and Ryerson University’s journalism program and is a regular commentator on the future of media and journalism. David is a member of teh Board of Directors of the Online News Associations (ONA).

    Smurl spent the last ten years at The New York Times in digital product development, paid content, advertising sales, strategic planning and business development roles. The latest is as general manager, core digital products, managing the performance and product evolution of core web and mobile products.

    Since 2009, as an executive board member, Cristina Soares manages the transformation of Público, aiming at a sustainable business model based on digital, as this Portuguese Newspaper remains a national reference for journalism quality, innovative company and corporative efficiency. She runs also other companies in the group, in radio, printing and distribution.
    Previously, Cristina worked with Bonança Assurance, ELF OIL Portugal, HCB - Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Mozambique and Siderurgia Nacional Portugal, as controller, organizational advisor and corporate conversion process. Cristina joined the Board of WAN-IFFRA in 2017. She has a Master and MBA from ISCTE Lisbon.
