Pre-Congress Study Tour

Meet digital news champions in London and Madrid in our annual pre-Congress Study Tour.

15-16 September 2020

Before the World News Media Congress gets started, take the opportunity to visit top news publishers in the UK and Spain: two countries with very different media landscapes and priorities, but the same challenge to grow engaged audiences.

Starting in London in the morning of 15 September, we'll meet reader revenue pioneers from globally recognised news brands. We will then travel together to Madrid and resume a busy itinerary with visits to major Spanish publishers (16 September). The next morning we'll continue by train to Zaragoza to take advantage of an excellent programme, starting with the Local Publisher Summit, Women in News and our World Editors Forum.

This 2-day tour will focus on subscription strategy and pay models, engagement and conversion strategies, how to manage the interface between editorial and marketing, and how to retain subscribers and members.
