Some of Asia’s leading news media companies, including Apple Daily, South China Morning Post and Thomson Reuters were among the winners of the 6th annual Asian Digital Media Awards jointly presented on 18 November in Hong Kong by Google and the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).
The ceremony which also honoured magazine publishers such as Mongoose Publishing and digital pure players such as lifestyle website WardrobeTrendsFashion (WTF) was marked by the outstanding achievement of Singapore Press Holdings limited (SPH), the publisher of The Straits Times, who scooped no less than 12 trophies.
The Asian Digital Media Awards are the most prestigious recognition in Asia of outstanding work in the fields of News website, online video, data visualisation, digital advertising campaign, news mobile services, tablet publishing, reader engagement and outstanding new product. Two new categories were added this year to honour the Best lifestyle website and Best lifestyle mobile service.
The ceremony was held at Digital Media Asia 2015, WAN-IFRA’s annual digital conference which opened today and gathered 240 media executives from 28 countries.
