Ishmet is the Group CEO of Media24, one of the largest media and book publishing houses in South Africa with interests also in television production and ecommerce logistics.

He has 25 years’ experience in the media industry and joined Media24 in 2012 as the head of community newspapers. Two years later he became head of its news division, after which the magazine and media distribution divisions were added to his new portfolio as CEO: Print Media. Ishmet was appointed as Group CEO in 2018. He has a financial background and also holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
